Hey J, and Wharf, and Rich and the others that posted "best wishes", I just want to say "thanks" as it is much appreciated...

For those following the sad news vis-a-vis the "pets" at William Tell's house, dry those tears...Wyatt has not left Jock entirely alone...he willed that Jock should get a "mail order" bride this Holiday season, and it has come to pass: a nice little female Cardigan Corgi is coming home to help ease Wyatt's passing, and give someone to Jock to boss around...

The Holiday season has taken a very decided turn for the better...thanks one and all for the support during a tough couple of days, you especially, Rob!

Note: in the photos, the new little gal is shown in the "brin front" jpg, and her mom is shown in the other...sorry, Monte! One of these days I'll follow your directions...

She's adorable. Ms. Divine would be proud of her country's contribution to the dog kingdom, no doubt.

Did I say country? Of course Wales is not a country, but a beautiful countryside.

Nothing like a puppy to brighten life up. Such a fun and exceptional breed. Congratulations!

PM Tell -

Congrats on the new baby. Hopefully Brin will help ease Wyatt's passing for you and give Jock somone to show the ropes to after Wyatt leaves.

BTW - Kenzie turned 11 today. She's starting to get a bit gimpy as the weather gets colder but she still thinks she's a pup and faithfully gets her toys out at 9:00 every night.

I know you probably don't want to think of this yet, but here goes. When the horrible day arrives and you know you have to ease a pet's suffering, some vets come to the house and will euthanize the pet at home in an environment they are comfortable in. I'm not sure who gets more comfort out of that - the pet or the owner. There is no way I am going to put Kenz in the truck and take her to the vet and have it done in a clinic. When she goes, it will be on her big dog bed surrounded by her family.

FWIW, you might want to check to see if your vet can/will do that when the time comes.

Damn, that was hard to compose.....

Thanks MJ; defn a good thought, even at this time...will defn look into it. For what it's worth, we have a vet we've known for years, and they let us come in with the dog, give him a little valium to lighten him up (I ask for them too...har), and we "settle down", then a quick couple of injections while we hold her/him (done this twice with this vet), and no one else in the room...leave when we want to, etc.

So, though not "home" and a bit clinical, they handle it pretty well relative to the other experiences I have had...hope all has been just great over your Holidays back East.

the title of this post has been bothering my lurking for the past couple of days. the words "William Tell" and "member" should NOT be used in the same sentence!

Yeah, one's usually enough, so the addition of yet another no doubt was confusing...

Har, har...I did think the same thing after reading the subject lines (often don't recognize it til you see it on the "big board", eh?).

Hope all has been good with you, and the three gals & girls that have to put up with you!

my three lovely ladies are suffering through my existence with steadfast resolution, if not a modicum of resignation.

things are indeed quite well in the House of Dire :)

I hope all is well in the Prime Minister's Household as well!!

Sorry Brother Tell. Did not hear about your loss... Puppy's always make things better though! I can relate having lost 4 dogs in 5 years...

On a better note a belated Merry Christmas to all!!! I had a great time with my old (literally) extended family here in San Diego!

It's a little bit overwhelming, going to have to learn my way around, but I think all will be well... Can find my way to the liquor store, other mor trivial stuff will follow...

And there is a fair chance my brain will not bake this summer, unless it's my choice...

Ya'll take care, and Happy New Year!

;)
